Hi! I'm Claire, a former UN translator turned UX designer and facilitator. I am a French-American hybrid who loves understanding people, solving problems, and doing improv. I am based in Brittany but would be happy to connect remotely.
My previous lives
Growing up in France, I promised myself that I would push my own boundaries and live abroad to understand how people who live far away see the world. A couple of decades later, I have lived in China and the United States, and I speak Mandarin, English, Spanish, and French, my native language.
I spent the first ten years of my career as a translator for the United Nations and international research organizations. My favorite thing was diving into highly technical subjects and seeing how much I could learn.
Then came the pandemic, which was a true reset. While I loved being a bridge between cultures, I missed being able to help in more creative ways. That's why I turned to UX. It's the same love for people and technical subjects that helps me tailor products that meet their users where they are.
"Yes, and" as a life philosophy
If I'm not designing, you'll find me doing... improv! I perform in France and in the US, and I'm passionate about that art form as a safe space to push my creativity and connect with my team. Performing in front of an audience has made me comfortable with uncertainty, and optimistic about what we can create when we all say "yes". It's an art that requires listening actively, thinking strategically, and supporting each other no matter what. All things that are at my core - both on stage and in everyday life.
